Helping Students Choose a Healthy Lifestyle

Apr 9, 2015
(NORTH BAY, ONT.) -- Canadore’s School of Sport and Recreation students are sharing their passion for healthy living at an interactive Health Fair tomorrow.

For the fourth year in a row, the fair will showcase the efforts of students in Professor Michelle Cundari’s Health and Wellness class. A work assignment tasked each team of students to raise awareness of a predominant health issue currently affecting college students and to provide solutions and community resources to help them make better choices.

“There are so many myths out there that students have issues choosing between right and wrong when it comes to healthy choices,” said Cundari. “With this as an inspiration, the class has been working collaboratively this semester to dispel some of those myths, and students are anxious to share their findings.”

Informative displays on the importance of being active, healthy eating at college, tobacco use, nutrition myths and stress management will be showcased. Attendees are encouraged to complete a passport to win healthy living prizes.

All media are welcome to attend.

Date: Thursday, April 9, 2015
