Introducing Autocar® Trucks – Purpose-Built from the Ground Up

Feb 25, 2021

Toronto, Ontario (February 25, 2021) – Wajax is now a Canadian distributor of Autocar® Truck parts and now provides service on Autocar® Truck products in select locations across Canada including Toronto, Sudbury, Ottawa and Dorval. Wajax’s distribution centre located in Toronto is the hub for Autocar® Truck parts distribution across Canada.

Autocar® Trucks are severe-duty, purpose-built vehicles that can be used for a variety of applications from refuse and recycling to construction and concrete. Autocar®, founded in 1897, created the first “engine-under-the-seat” delivery wagon in 1899, which was a precursor to the Cab-Over-Engine design used currently. Presently, Autocar® Trucks are custom engineered to the customer’s application; there are no generic stock trucks, and no chopping, welding, slicing and dicing in an aftermarket mod-shop is done. The wiring, frame, and body controls are all assembled on the factory production line and tailored to the specific application or vocation.

Autocar® Refuse Trucks are the primary product line Wajax will be supporting with parts and service. These vehicles have been designed from the wheels up to maximize safety, productivity, and efficiency. The Autocar® Truck Cab-Over-Engine design with 325° driver visibility and exceptional maneuverability, including the industry’s tightest turning radius, leads to less backing up and potentially fewer collisions. Autocar®’s all-steel cabs and wrap-around bumpers help to enhance safety while durable, lightweight frames allow for long route capabilities. Extra details like fluid service points on the curb side, along with spacious cabs, make Autocar® a leader in manufacturing some of the most reliable and safest vocational trucks on the road.

Wajax is proud to offer Autocar® Truck parts and services in various locations across Canada. The central distribution centre in Toronto, Ontario is well stocked with essential parts and able to expedite shipping throughout Canada. Autocar® provides 24/7 Direct Factory Support for new truck purchases for the life of the truck. Wajax and Autocar® have a longstanding history of industry expertise within their respective regions. As a national On-Highway provider and an Allison distributer, Wajax has the operational capabilities in place to integrate Autocar® Truck parts and services seamlessly into its operations.

“The Autocar® and Wajax partnership is a great fit to expand our offerings and support our customers in the On-Highway market,” said Joe Di Pede, Vice President, Powertrain.
