INVESTMENT OF $ 1.5 MILLION IN REGIONAL SOLIDARITY FUNDS QFL TO SUPPORT THE GROWTH OF FORAGE G4

20TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FTQ REGIONAL SOLIDARITY FUNDS: $ 76.5 MILLION IN INVESTMENTS IN NORTHWESTERN QUEBEC
 
Val-d'Or, September 28, 2016 - Forage G4  begins its first operations in Mexico with a single drill. The excellence and professionalism shown by the company ensure a dazzling growth of the latter which sees its number of drills multiplying, going from one to 32 in just five years.
 
Today, Groupe Forage G4 owns more than 75 drilling units, including 45 in Quebec, and employs more than 120 employees in Canada and Mexico, including 100 in Quebec. The company carries out quality projects from the tundra to the jungle via the semi-desert plains of Chihuahua, and this, in a safe manner while respecting the environment and the communities.
 
To support the expansion of Forage G4, the Abitibi-Témiscamingue Regional Solidarity Funds QFL (FRS) have invested $ 1.5 million, thereby expanding its drilling range by acquiring Forages CCL in Fermont. The company has been a partner of the FRS since its creation.
 
“Both companies in the natural resources sector and suppliers of products and services can count on the FTQ Regional Solidarity Funds for their growth and sustainability. Companies like Forage G4 are essential players in our economy that create jobs, ”said Raymond Grenier, regional director of the  Fonds regional de solidarité FTQ Nord-du-Québec and Abitibi-Témiscamingue .
 
20 years of investment in northwestern Quebec
 
The Regional Solidarity Funds QFL of Northwest Quebec have invested $ 76.5 million in 150 projects since their creation in 1996. These investments have helped to create, maintain or save 4,250 jobs in the region.
 
"These results testify to the relevance of the FRS and allow us to see our next 20 years in Abitibi-Témiscamingue with optimism and enthusiasm," said Luc Pinard, President and CEO of the Regional Solidarity Funds QFL.
 
Quality jobs
 
A recent analysis by KPMG shows that the average salary within the partner companies of the Fund and the Regional Funds is 78% higher than the regional average in Abitibi-Témiscamingue ($ 75,593 versus $ 42,516), and 42% higher in Nord-du-Québec ($ 53,936 versus $ 37,951).

For 20 years, the FTQ Regional Solidarity Funds have participated in the economic development of each of the regions of Quebec. Created in 1996 and an integral part of the Fonds de solidarité FTQ network, the Regional Funds have invested $ 635 million in 1,040 projects.
