- KGHM's anniversary slogan "The future is made of copper" tells everything about our history and our future. The strategic importance of copper as a raw material necessary for the further development of the world presents us with long-term prospects. The Copper Basin and KGHM are the past with over one billion tonnes of ore and another million tonnes of copper ahead of us. Thank you to my former and current employees for their dedication and hard work. Our underground city and other plants are our pride. KGHM is a company for people with courage and determination - it is a company for people like you - said Marcin Chludziński, President of the Management Board of KGHM Polska Miedź SA to the participants of the academy.

During the ceremony, 40 KGHM employees received state decorations from the ministers: Marzena Machałek, Krzysztof Kubow and Maciej Małecki, and the deputy voivode of Lower Silesia. The medals were awarded for exemplary, exceptionally diligent performance of professional duties.

The Jubilee Academy was graced by the performance of Anna Karwan and local artists from the Copper Belt.

This year KGHM is celebrating the 60th anniversary of establishing the Copper Mining and Metallurgical Plant, which has over time become a global tycoon in the mining industry. On the occasion of the jubilee of, among others an occasional mural was created on the KGHM ZANAM building in Legnica. The artistic project is economical in form, but it refers to the mining industry in the Copper Basin. The black background is a relationship with the miner's gala attire. The second color is copper, which is a strategic raw material for the company. The mural with the company's logo also appeared in the center of Warsaw. Anniversary advertisements were displayed, among others in New York.

A film about KGHM was also prepared especially for the celebration. the underground city and the discoverer of deposits in the Copper Basin, Jan Wyżykowski, was shown. The program featured miners, steel workers, rescuers and many other people from the KGHM family. There were also wishes for the crew from the President and the Prime Minister. The film can be viewed on the Company's YouTube channel.

Behind us are also the participation of KGHM employees in the TV show of Telewizja Polska Familiada and the Great Test about the Treasures of the Earth with the participation of the brass band from Huta Miedzi Głogów. We also managed to organize ceremonial marches and concerts of orchestras from four branches of KGHM in four cities of the Copper Belt.

In June, the mobile exhibition about KGHM will set off on a journey across the country. A special truck will arrive, among others to Lower Silesia and to cities on the Polish coast. Visitors to the exhibition will see films about the mines, steel mills and ore enrichment plants in the Copper Basin. The attraction will be imitations of silver and gold bars and copper granules. You will be able to touch the exhibits and check how much they weigh. There will be interesting facts about red metal and other raw materials. Already on June 19 will visit a mobile exhibition in Wroclaw, Centennial Hall.

KGHM's anniversary is an opportunity to emphasize the importance of the company in the international arena. Thanks to the involvement of employees, the copper giant reaches for new technologies, develops new mining solutions, manufactures and creates its own equipment and machinery for servicing mines and steel mills. The company is also developing projects related to the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence in KGHM.

KGHM, despite the pandemic, is implementing a strategy and has a defined development vision. The Company implements photovoltaic projects and visionary plans related to Renewable Energy Sources. The copper mined by KGHM is the basis for many technological innovations, in particular based on the so-called "Green energy". Photovoltaic power plants or electric cars are based on the raw material, which contain 4 times more copper than combustion-engine ones.
