Our Repair And Maintenance Programs (RAMP) guarantees you a fixed long term maintenance cost that assures peace of mind so you can effectively concentrate on your core business.The agreement allows you to have a predetermined forecast cost on operating your machine fleet over a specific timeframe.

1. Service

• Failure analysis projects and reports. Preparing fabrication documentation such as Parts Books and Installation Guides.
• Conduction and Assisting in Six Sigma projects for customers.
• Performing design improvements for the Service Departments.
• Maintaining OEM drawings.
• CADD services for Service Departments.

 

2. Sales

• Preparing SEST (Sales Engineering Support Team) requests for attachments and machine modification approvals.
• Assisting with BW (Body Worksheets) for truck body approvals.
• Preparing SFR (Special Feature Requests) for equipment special features.
• Involvement in SMS truck body designs and preparing fabrication drawings.
• Creating and standardizing machine modification packages
• Working with suppliers of attachments to design machine attachments.
• CADD services for Sales.

 

3. Compliance Services

• Support corporate continuous improvement with ISO 9001 Quality Compliance.
• Liason for Provincial Mines Inspectors and OEM engineering/technical representatives.
• Support services for the certification of stands and lifting devices to meet provincial OH&S codes.
• General resource for legislation and industry codes and standards compliancy.

 

4. Equipment

• Performing on-site OFR (Optimum Fleet Recommendation) studies and presenting the results to customers.
• Performing other application studies to provide customers with accurate machine selection information, such as fuel consumption studies.
• Creating application specific modifications to machines, for improved performance, and customer satisfaction.

Reporting through the site Superintendent the Supervisor is responsible for the safe, efficient and economical operation of the assigned work area.

Supervisor, Service

Reporting to the Service Manager, Kamloops and Williams Lake, the Supervisor, Service directs and supervises the Services function for the Kamloops branch. 

Summer Student Service - Labourer (Kamloops)

Reporting to the Parts Manager, the Parts warehouse summer student is responsible for a variety of general duties and assisting skilled trades people.

Electrician, Journeyperson

Reporting to the General Supervisor this position will provide electrical support and expertise to some of the largest mobile mining equipment in the world. 

Field Heavy Equipment Technician, Journeyperson (Fort McMurray)

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Heavy Equipment Technician, Journeyperson maintains, repairs, and rebuilds heavy equipment at the shop in a safe, efficient, and capable manner. 

Manager, SMART Construction

SMS Equipment is seeking a Construction Equipment & Technology Business leader for the role of Manager, SMART Construction to lead the definition and execution of the SMS Smart Construction business growth strategy.
