Dec 9, 2020

Training, workshops, meetings, development programs, research - KGHM Polska Miedź SA summarizes the pro-social activities carried out in 2020 in cooperation with the self-governments of the Copper Basin. Joint projects were directed primarily to students, teachers, parents and inhabitants of the region.

During an online meeting with the participation of the Management Board of KGHM and commune heads, mayors, presidents and starosts of counties from the Copper Belt, the Company also presented plans for 2021. Activities will be extended or changed depending on the development of the pandemic in Poland.

- The pandemic did not stop KGHM and did not stop our social activities carried out jointly with local governments. We moved some of the projects to virtual reality, thanks to which we managed to maintain a wide audience of our programs, counting among hundreds of teachers and parents. Next year, we want to continue our activity for families and continue to support students from the Copper Belt , said Radosław Stach, Vice President of the Management Board of KGHM for Production.

Locally and responsibly

This year KGHM has completed a number of projects for the local community. Behind us are workshops for parents to raise parental competences or further activities to support foster care. Thanks to the copper campaign of the Copper Company, 14 new foster parents for children from the Copper Belt were found. We also got involved in the government's help for seniors. The company provided, inter alia, food packages for several thousand elderly people.

We have launched a special application for copper phones. We present there the Copper Basin in a new version and in the current situation, we invite you to take a virtual tour of this region. The application is full of photos, videos and suggested routes for individual and family tourism.

KGHM for employees

KGHM also does not forget about supporting its employees. The Parent's Libraries with publications for rent have been operating in the company's branches since this year. We managed to organize workshops for fathers and organize the Two Hours for the Family campaign. On the occasion of the birth of a child, in 2020, the company gave 368 gifts to new parents who are employees of the company.

The company can also boast of success in conducting an opinion poll among employees. 43 percent took part in them. crew. The surveys will allow KGHM to analyze and prepare a report on motivation or relations with superiors. Additionally, each sheet completed by the employee translated into support for orphanages. The company will provide selected institutions with over 42 thousand. PLN.

 Competences and training

The copper giant does not intend to release support for pro-social initiatives next year. We offer representatives of local governments to continue this year's projects and new programs. We still plan to co-finance diagnostic tests of adolescents, workshops for parents and educators, and strengthening the competences of school heads. We also intend to provide residents with guides and online materials on educational topics.
