Collingwood, Ontario, August 17, 2015 – Attendees at this year’s North American Mining Expo (August 19-20 in Copper Cliff, Ontario) will get a first-hand look at the latest ground support innovation from MacLean Engineering, with the unveiling of a Scissor Bolter equipped with resin pushing and bolt handling.

These new bolting application features have been purpose designed and field tested to deliver improved productivity in the underground environment, and the MacLean team on-hand at the North American Mining Expo in Copper Cliff will include an operator trainer who field tested the unit at NORCAT’s underground mine facility.

“MacLean has been on the frontlines of mobile mining equipment innovation for over four decades, and our focus remains unchanged - creating value for mining companies and the miners they employ by developing practical solutions to underground problems,” noted President Kevin MacLean. “Effective resin pushing and bolt handling on our Scissor Bolter is the latest chapter in this ongoing innovation story, one that began in the Sudbury basin and continues to evolve there to this day.”

“We never lose sight of the fact that listening to our customers is at the core of our value proposition, so we are looking forward to continuing this conversation at N.A.M.E. 2015,” added Don MacLean, Founder and Chairman of MacLean Engineering. “It takes a partnership approach to engineer and manufacture underground equipment that is safer, more ergonomic, more productive, more durable, more reliable, and easy-to-repair.”

The new MacLean Scissor Bolter with resin feed and bolt handling can be visited at North American Mining Expo outdoor booth #13.
