Management Buyout: Clyde Bergemann Power Group Sells Its Materials Handling Business in Doncaster, UK to the Management

Mar 25, 2020
To further streamline the worldwide organisation and focus on key technologies in line with the new strategic direction, Clyde Bergemann Power Group (CBPG) is pleased to announce they have sold Clyde Bergemann Materials Handling Ltd. in Doncaster, UK (CBD) as of today. CBD is specialized in Materials Handling solutions for power and industrial markets.

Clyde Bergemann put forward the opportunity also to the CBD management team to purchase the business unit, as another step in divesting from Materials Handling activities and focusing on the group’s core competencies. Managing Director Stephen Cragg and Finance Director Miles Ratcliffe of CBD, both with many years’ experience within the industry and the Clyde Bergemann Power Group, firmly accepted the proposition.
The transaction includes the total business, less a few projects that will be finalised under the responsibility of the Clyde Bergemann Power Group and with support on practical matters by CBD. The management buyout ensures a stable future for the former business unit, which will now be named Clyde Pneumatic Conveying Ltd.
Dr. Christian Mueller, President & CEO of the Clyde Bergemann Power Group: “Though divesting from pneumatic conveying activities in Doncaster, our aim was from the very beginning to ensure a continuation of the business and to provide future job perspectives to our colleagues at CBD. This aim was achieved.”
