The Destination Canada Mobility Forum is an annual event organized by the Government of Canada. It connects Canadian employers with skilled candidates in various fields. Over 3,000 qualified and pre-screened candidates who are ready to move to Canada participate.

To assist you in your workforce needs, Sudbury is participating as an exhibitor this year to attract the skilled workers you need.
 
Workforce development and attraction is a priority for the economic development and prosperity of the city. We are here to assist our local companies to attract the skilled workers they need to operate and expand their businesses.
 
How does it work?
 
  1. We work with Destination Canada to attract job seekers to the job fair.
  2. We collect your job postings and upload them to the Destination Canada portal, The City of Greater Sudbury will be available to answer any questions from the candidates about relocating to Sudbury.
  3. We screen applicants, and you’re given a short-list of candidates that fit what you’re seeking - all without leaving your office!

Who are the job seekers?
 
Two types of candidate:
 
  1. Candidates who will be ready to leave for Canada with an open work permit
  2. Candidates eligible for a work permit without a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)

Cost: FREE (additional fees may apply for immigration processing for certain candidates)

Once you have registered, we will provide you with a link to submit your jobs descriptions.  We will then upload them to the Destination Canada portal on your behalf.  Destination Canada will review all job descriptions before they are posted.
 
LMIA exemptions under the International Mobility Program
 
Most candidates will be eligible for Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) exempt work permits under the International Mobility Program, in the following streams:
 
The Mobilité Francophone stream exempts employers from the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) process when they hire francophone workers in managerial, professional and technical/skilled trades occupations from abroad to work outside of Quebec.  You will find details on eligibility and how to apply in the attached bilingual information sheet.  Positions in skill levels 0 and A are eligible for 2-week processing under the Global Skills Strategy.
 
International Experience Canada (IEC) provides youth, aged 18 to 35, with the opportunity to travel and work in Canada.  Participants in the Working Holiday category obtain an open work permit valid up to 24 months.  With a job offer that contributes to their professional development, participants in the Young Professionals category obtain an employer-specific work permit valid up to 24 months.  Students with a job offer for a work placement or internship in Canada can obtain an employer-specific work permit valid up to 12 months in the International co-op (Internship) category.  France, Belgium and Switzerland are among the 34 countries which have IEC youth mobility agreements with Canada.
