Practical helpers in new designs

PFERD is expanding its range of HSS step drills to include additional designs, dimensions and sets.

 

Step drills are practical helpers when it comes to quickly drilling holes in sheet metal, pipes and profiles. Metallic materials, non-ferrous metals, plastics or other materials, for example wood, can be processed. Material thicknesses of up to 4 mm can be drilled and deburred at the same time in one operation with little effort.

 

PFERD is expanding its range of drilling and countersinking tools to include new designs, dimensions and sets.

 

In principle, all PFERD step drills feature extremely smooth running and high cutting performance thanks to their high-precision manufacturing. The high-quality drill tip enables effortless centering and drilling in the workpiece. The spiral-shaped groove transports non-breaking chips away reliably and quickly and prevents the formation of built-up edges and cold welds on the cutting edges. The step drill can be easily withdrawn from openings thanks to the conical shape ground on the back. All step drills have a triple shank for safe torque transmission.

 

PFERD offers two versions of step drills, mainly for use in drilling machines or column drilling machines, with HICOAT coating (HC-FEP) and without coating.

 

Step drills with HICOAT coating HC-FEP offer high hot hardness and oxidation resistance. They can therefore also be used on hard materials without the addition of coolants. Both versions are available in dimensions from 4-12 mm to 6-37 mm.

 

PFERD also offers two three-part sets with the most common dimensions (4-12 mm, 4-20 mm, 4-30 mm). The break-proof plastic boxes protect the tools from dirt and damage. The fixation of the HSS step drill facilitates the selection and removal of the tools.
