Presidents Iván Duque and Sebastián Piñera inaugurate the First Latin American Mining Meeting ELAMI 2021

The event led by Colombia and which will bring together representatives from 7 countries in the region, will be broadcast live from 8:00 am on Tuesday, March 2.
 
The heads of state of Colombia and Chile will be in charge of initiating this regional dialogue on current affairs and opportunities in the mining sector in Latin America. The meeting will be held until next Friday and will open with the panel "Mining in the political and economic agenda of Latin American countries"; This space, led by the Colombian journalist and presenter Claudia Palacios, will have the participation of Diego Mesa - Minister of Mines and Energy of Colombia, Juan Jobet - Biminister of Mines and Energy of Chile, Jaime Gálvez Delgado - Minister of Energy and Mines of Peru, Alberto Hensel- Secretary of Mining of Argentina and Bento Albuquerque - Minister of Mines and Energy of Brazil.
 
On this opening day, one of the most important moments of the event will also take place, the role of the mining industry in the face of Climate Change. This session will feature the participation of the German ambassador to Colombia, Peter Ptassek, and the environment ministers Carlos Eduardo Correa, from Colombia, Carolina Schmidt from Chile, and Gabriel Quijandría from Peru.
