RDH-Scharf Liftmaster 600EB Completes More than 10 Months of Operation at Codelco’s El Teniente Mine

In Codelco's El Teniente Division, the various teams that are part of the new electric fleet to be implemented by the state company were presented, within the framework of its sustainability strategy, which considers the decarbornization of its operations.

 

Among these, the debut of the hybrid LHD developed by the Komatsu company stood out , which operates industrially for the first time in a 100% electric way, without gearboxes, filters, or mechanical drives and using diesel only for the generation of motor power. This innovation is expected to increase the productivity of said equipment between 10% and 20%, being used industrially for the first time at Codelco El Teniente, and then starting its commercialization to the rest of the industry at an international level.
