Reflex Geochemistry Applied Geochemistry Workshop
Following on from the 26th IAGS (International Applied Geochemistry Symposium) in New Zealand, REFLEX Geochemistry (formerly ioGlobal Consulting) and Leapfrog Geo will provide geoscientists the opportunity to learn simple yet effective techniques to increase the value of their assay data, from data preparation to interpretation.
REFLEX Geochemistry and Aranz Geo (Leapfrog 3D), in association with the New Zealand branch of the AusIMM, present a 1 day workshop:
Getting more value from your assay data – An introduction to applied geochemical techniques and 3D data integration.

Workshop topics include:
Introduction to Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA)
• Getting your data ready
• The rationale behind EDA
• Data validation and conditioning
Turning data into information
• Univariate graphical techniques: box and whisker plots, histograms
• Probability plots: The geochemists tool
Map based visualisation
• Levelling geochemical data
• Attribute and thematic maps, RGB combinations, gridding and imaging data
Targeting methods
• Weighted sums, cluster analysis, auto-attributed RGB and outliers
Introduction to Lithogeochemistry - alteration and rock type classification
• Sampling strategy and data required
• Using rock classification diagrams
• Quantifying alteration and the issue of closure
• Methods to avoid closure: Ratios, GER and PER plots
3D visualisation of geochemical data using the ioGAS-Leapfrog Geo live link
• Importing data and activating the ioGAS-Leapfrog Geo live link
• Interrogate, attribute and classify your data in ioGAS and view the results in 3D spatial context
• Create or update a geological model in Leapfrog Geo using lithogeochemical data from ioGAS
• Create grade shells and investigate various hypotheses
