REMOTE-CONTROL MULTILIFTS MODERNIZE FIRE AND RESCUE

Feb 4, 2021

When disasters strike, seconds count; when those disasters occur in underground rescue operations, delivering welfare units to the scene is a challenge.

HIAB Multilift remote-controlled hooklifts play a vital role.

Recently, Scottish Fire and Rescue urgently needed a better way to deliver self-contained welfare pods during emergency rescue operations – one that was swift, safe and protected their emergency services crews. One that would provide immediate safety, security, strength and comfort in challenging circumstances.

They reached out to Emergency One, Scotland’s national supplier of bespoke emergency vehicles and equipment, for an answer. Emergency One responded by installing four remote-controlled Multilift 21s.51 hooklifts on Scania six-wheel chassis at HIAB’s Cumbernauld service centre in Scotland.

Emergency One director, Chester Smith, knew that Multilift’s absolute precision and reliability was the best choice for this “tender process.” Their state-of-the-art remote-controlled operation gives greater flexibility and unobstructed views to offload the units in the optimal location, providing a safe space and shelter for emergency services to help the public.

There is no doubt that Multilifts will play a crucial role in Emergency Services, fire and rescue operations, and long-term construction sites in Scotland, Canada, and around the world.
