As one of Northern Ontario’s leading complete-service contractor, the addition of Rail Services to our Construction, Transportation, Environmental and Aggregate divisions will provide you with a single-source solution that you can depend on, whether providing ongoing maintenance or performing emergency repairs, we complete the job on budget, on time.
One of Day's strong points on the rail is our fleet of excavators equipped with hi-tracker power carts. These units vary from 20 tonne excavators to 35 tonne excavators. The units are equipped with full air brake system on the 25-yard gravel boxes and the towed flat-beds with a certified capacity of 110,000 lbs. This allows us to bring equipment in to remote work sites.
The excavators can be equipped with a variety of buckets, brush cutters, grapples and magnets to meet endless job requirements. Also in our fleet is the 20 tonne class excavator, hi-rail equipped, with many of the same attachments as the track excavators. It comes with its own 14 yard gravel box and 10 tonne lorry.

Equipment Trainer - Timmins
William Day Construction Limited is looking for an experienced Driver/equipment trainer.
Heavy Equipment Mechanic Apprentice - Timmins
- Repair and adjust hydraulic pumps, safety valves, and any other necessary mechanical components
- Inspect, repair and adjust gasoline and diesel powered units
Field Office Administrative Assistant - Timmins
- Complete daily work reports and submit hours for Field Supervisor’s/ Superintendent’s
- Input various data from Fuel Sheets, Crusher Reports, and Circle Checks into spreadsheets
Shop Helper - Timmins
- Carry out general labouring duties in order to assist Day Group Mechanics and the various trades, as required
- Duties include keeping the shop clean, sweeping, washing and putting tools away and delivering materials when needed
AZ Long Haul/Float Driver - Timmins
- Complete reports such as driver logbooks, inspection reports, and maintenance and repair reports
- Ensure safety and security of cargo, oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment
General Labourer - Timmins
- Carry out general labouring duties in order to assist both Day Group personnel and the various trades on site, as required.
- Duties may include preparing a job site, loading and delivering materials, cleaning, assembling, lifting, moving, and being directed to offer assistance.
