The call for the second edition of the HuEllas Award for women in the mining sector is open

The award highlights the work of workers and allies of the national mining industry.
 
The Hu Ellas Award in the growth of the industry is an initiative of the Colombian Mining Association that every two years recognizes the commitment and leadership of women in the development of the sector.
 
“This is a recognition that seeks to highlight the work of women belonging to the communities of the mining area of ​​influence, providers of goods and services and workers in the industry who, often anonymously, contribute to the development of the activity, their environment and, therefore, towards the progress of the country ”, indicated Juan Camilo Nariño, president of the Association.
 
This version will have 3 categories: Business Ambassador , where the woman whose differential contribution made possible the fulfillment of goals and objectives of the organization to which she belongs and therefore of the Colombian mining industry will be awarded. On the other hand, Community Ambassador , who will recognize the candidate who, in alliance with companies in the sector, was characterized by her leadership in the management of high-impact projects in favor of her community and, finally, through Entrepreneur Ambassador , a recognition to those who led an enterprise and promoted local economic development, promoting innovation, entrepreneurship and healthy competition in their region.
 
“In March, we organized the Latin American Mining Meeting (ELAMI) and signed a regional declaration in which we agreed to lead the closing of gender gaps in the sector. Along these lines, our commitments to diversity and inclusion will continue to be a fundamental pillar of our operations. The Huellas Award gives us the opportunity to make visible the contributions and actions of hundreds of women to the Colombian mining industry, ”said Nariño.
 
Those in charge of selecting the finalists will be the journalist and presenter Mabel Lara, the Director of the Colombian Observatory for Women of the Presidential Council for Women's Equality, César Pinzón Medina and Amanda Díaz Ramírez, from the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank .
 
The winners of the Business Ambassador and Entrepreneur categories will receive an award and a scholarship for the CESA Management Skills diploma. For her part, the Community Ambassador will receive an award and 3 million pesos to invest in the initiative she leads.
