THE ONTARIO PREMIER HAS ORDERED THE CLOSURE OF ALL NON-ESSENTIAL WORKPLACES DUE COVID-19

The Ontario Premier has ordered the closure of all non-eaaential workplaces as of Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at 11:59 pm. Following the guidlines of essential businesses realesed by the provincial government. Canadian Shield Consultants is considered an essential service and will continue to provide services to our clients.

Businesses that support environmental management/monitoring and spill clean-up and responcse, including environmental consulting firms, professionals engineers and geoscientists, septic haulers, well drillers, pesticides applicators and exterminators, management of industrial sewage/effluent (e.g. for mining operations), and environmental laboratories, can continue to provide their services.

Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, Canadian Shield Consultants has enacted its own pandemic control measures, including weekly screening of all staff, limiting public access to our office, and additional public health measures aimed at protecting staff and our clients.

Routine monitoring of water and wastewater systems is still a general requirement of government agencies to ensure that public health and the environment are protected. Maintenance activities to sustain these operations will continue, and all staff abide by the general recommendations to avoid illness by:

• Avoiding contact with people who are sick
• Covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue
• Washing hands often with soap and water
• Avoiding touching eyes, nose, or mouth
• Regularly cleaning surfaces and objects used regularly
