Univar Names Sam Sutherland Vice President of Global Mining

REDMOND, Wash., August 20, 2013 – Univar Inc., a leading global chemical distributor, announced today that it has named Sam Sutherland as its new Vice President of Global Mining. In his new role with Univar, Sutherland will report directly to global Oil & Gas and Mining Industry President, Chris Oversby.
 
Sutherland’s appointment to the new leadership position in mining marks Univar’s focus on growth in the mining industry. Sutherland brings 25 years of experience in the mining industry, including growing and overseeing industrial minerals technologies for a specialty chemical manufacturer. In his role as vice president, Sutherland will help grow Univar’s presence in the mining industry, establishing a global infrastructure, driving new opportunities and coordinating with the Univar global Oil & Gas team.
 
“Sam’s extensive experience in the mining industry makes him an excellent addition to our global team,” said Chris Oversby, president of Univar’s global Oil & Gas and Mining industry vertical. “His knowledge of the industry combined with his experience in chemical manufacturing, management and sales growth will be an important asset for Univar’s rapidly growing mining division.”
 
Prior to joining Univar, Sutherland served as Vice President of Industrial Mineral Technologies at ArrMaz, a specialty chemical manufacturer. While there, he grew the company’s global industrial minerals markets with a focus on mineral processing, sulfurized compounds, water treatment, and specialty tolling markets. Sutherland started his career in mining and chemicals at Nalco, where he served as a sales manager for domestic and international mining markets.

Sutherland earned his Bachelor of Science degree in mining engineering from Virginia Tech and holds a MBA from the University of South Florida. He serves on the advisory board for the Mining and Minerals Engineering Department at Virginia Tech and is also serves on the board of directors for his local YMCA affiliate in Valrico, Florida.

Inventory Coordinator

Monitors and updates inventory records including: records changes in inventory (purchases, sales), reviews invoices and inventory reports, monitors and records stock transfers, and produces inventory reports as required 

Warehouse Operator – Night Shift
