WSP ANNOUNCES CLOSING OF MMM ACQUISITION

WSP is pleased to announce that it has completed the acquisition of MMM Group

Nov 5, 2015

WSP is pleased to announce that it has completed the acquisition of MMM Group, one of the largest privately-owned engineering consulting companies in Canada with approximately 2,000 employees.

With a national footprint comprising 18 offices across 7 provinces and a strong Ontario (including the Greater Toronto Area) presence representing approximately 75% of its 2014 net revenues, MMM is recognized for its expertise in transportation, infrastructure & environment, and buildings, its three main operating segments. MMM is also a leader in public-private partnerships (P3), more particularly in the delivery of large-scale, complex P3 projects involving transportation, highways, bridges, transit, airports and buildings.

This acquisition will provide enhanced opportunities to WSP’s Canadian and Global operations by:

- Increasing WSP’s leading position in transportation, infrastructure, environment, buildings, resources and energy in its home market.

- Complementing WSP's world-class building expertise in mechanical, electrical and structural engineering services. MMM also adds commissioning and sustainable development know-how to WSP's team.

- Strengthening WSP’s presence in Ontario and more specifically in the Greater Toronto Area, a market where WSP is looking to increase its market competitiveness.

- Bolstering WSP's presence in the P3 market across Canada, the United States and around the world.

"I am delighted about this acquisition and that our two firms are joining forces," said David Ackert, President and Chief Executive Officer of WSP in Canada. "The coming together of these two like-minded firms will enable us to pursue our growth strategy and strengthen our foundation across Canada by increasing our ability to deliver superior value to our clients, shareholders and employees."

"As we join WSP, a firm with similar values to MMM and a complementary business model, we will have an opportunity to continue our journey of growth. We also look forward to providing additional value for our employees and clients through our enhanced expertise and expanded network,” said Hugo Blasutta, Chief Executive Officer of MMM.

Through this acquisition, WSP in Canada now counts approximately 8,700 employees and net revenues of approximately $1 billion in Canada.
