In the early 1900′s, the area of Northern Ontario around what is now called Timmins Ontario became known as the Porcupine Gold Camp. It was, and remains, a prolific gold field where many mines have sprung up over the years; the best known are Dome, Hollinger and McIntyre. Today, 100 years later, the Dome Mine is still producing and there are plans to re-open the other two. This area has produced more gold than any other camp in North America.

 

While retaining its mining and forestry base, the area has evolved into an important mining supply center. It was in this environment that Porcupine Canvas began serving the mining and exploration community in 1982. Since then, we have evolved into a global supplier.

 

Porcupine Canvas manufactures a multitude of tool bags, wall tents, tipis, sweat lodge covers, wet filtration (drum filters and disc filters) and custom products. Our expertise in custom fabrications, made from a variety of materials, allows us to meet your unique specialty needs rapidly and efficiently. We also carry a full line of prospecting and geological tools.
