Asante Gold Corporation is a junior gold exploration and development company headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia. Our current focus is Ghana, West Africa. We are exploring the Fahiakoba concession, adjoining to the north of Perseus Mining's new Edikan (Ayanfuri) Mine.
Ghana - Africa's number two gold producer - hosts numerous +10 million ounce deposits, including Obuasi, Tarkwa, and Ahafo. Some of the world's leading gold producers are active here including Newmont, AngloGold Ashanti and Goldfields.
Over three million ounces of gold are scheduled to be produced in Ghana this year and over nine million ounces in West Africa with forecasts of 30% growth over the next four years. And, according to the International Monetary Fund, the Sub Saharan Africa economic growth, which now exceeds 5% annually, is expected to outpace Asian growth in five years.
We plan to capitalize on this gold-rich environment by adding to our assets through exploration, financial mergers and acquisitions.
