Canada-Nunavut Geoscience Office
Established in 1999, the Canada-Nunavut Geoscience Office (CNGO) is a co-funded and co-managed partnership between Natural Resources Canada (the Geological Survey of Canada, Earth Sciences Sector), Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, and the Government of Nunavut (the Department of Economic Development and Transportation).
CNGO activities include acquisition, analysis, interpretation and dissemination of geoscience data; thematic studies, geoscience information management, preparation of geoscience maps and scientific reports, and community outreach activities. CNGO outreach activities are designed to increase awareness and understanding of geoscience in Nunavut and to integrate Inuit Traditional Knowledge (Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit)
