The Shining Tree Project consists of over 200 km² of leased, patented, and unpatented mineral claims that include the Minto, Tyranite, Duggan, Matona and Churchill properties, located in NE Ontario. The properties lie within the south-west part of the Abitibi Greenstone belt, which borders on Proterozoic sediments of the Cobalt Embayment and is prospective for a number of mineral deposit types, including mesothermal lode gold deposits, volcanogenic massive sulfide base-metal deposits, and layered magmatic sulfide (Ni) deposits. The deeper gold mineralization at the Shining Tree Project is associated with quartz-carbonate-sulfide (pyrite and lesser chalcopyrite, arsenopyrite, and molybdenite) veins/veinlets with local Au-Ag tellurides, free gold, and alkalic alteration that varies from K-dominant to Na-dominant. Mineralization appears to be related to late-stage syenitic intrusions of Archean age on the SW border of the Round Lake Batholith.
