LNS Greenland A/S

In 1990 RC Construction Services A/S was founded by Rasmus Christian Rasmussen, who is now CEO of Greenland Mining Services A/S. 

 

RC Construction Services was headquartered in Qaqortoq, South Greenland and worked on solving construction tasks throughout Greenland with the logistical challenges this entailed.

 

In 2004 Nalunaq Gold Mine A/S was founded and the company would develop and operate the first gold mine in Greenland, which was located just north of Nanortalik and employed approx. 120 employees.

 

RC Construction Services A/S was initially involved in the work to build the mine city and many of the related facilities such as tanks, harbor, heliport and after Nalunaq Gold Mine A / S had started, production agreement was signed with RC Construction Services A/S that the company would be responsible for transportation of raw ore from the mine to the port, which was located approx. 12 km away. RC Construction Services A S would also be responsible for all maintenance of roads, machinery and camp and the company would be responsible for loading of ore ships calling at ports in Nalunaq periodically. Later RC Construction Services were to be responsible for the feeding of all employees and the numerous guests who visited the gold mine.

 

Around 2007 began RC Construction Services A S to work with Greenland Resources A/S, which was a company with a large network within the minerals industry and who performed drilling and other services for the foreign mining companies who work in Greenland. This collaboration resulted in January 2008 to an actual merger between the two companies, which then changed its name to Greenland Mining Services A/S.

 

Later in 2008, the company's business further expanded by the acquisition of Viking Diving Company A/S and also entered into strategic agreements with Air Greenland about renting helicopters.

 

Greenland Mining Services A / S was thus able to supply transportation by land, sea and air and has subsequently conducted a large and varied amount of work for the minerals industry in Greenland.
