The Diavik Diamond Mine is an unincorporated joint venture between Diavik Diamond Mines Inc. (60 per cent ownership) and Dominion Diamond Diavik Limited Partnership (40 per cent ownership).  Both companies are headquartered in Yellowknife, Canada. Diavik Diamond Mines Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Rio Tinto plc, one of the world's leading mining and exploration companies.  Dominion Diamond Diavik Limited Partnership is wholly owned by Dominion Diamond Corporation of Toronto, Canada.  Diavik Diamond Mines Inc. manages the operation of the mine.
