Highland Copper Company Inc. is a Canadian exploration company focused on exploring and developing copper projects within the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, U.S.A, an area known as "Copper Country". In 2011, Highland and its 100%-owned Michigan subsidiary Keweenaw Copper Co. entered into a mining venture agreement under which they are entitled to earn a 65% interest in the Keweenaw Copper Project by spending $11,500,000 in development and exploration and completing a feasibility study by October 26, 2015. The Keweenaw Copper Project currently covers about 9,186 acres of mineral rights. Highland has put in place an experienced technical team with the objectives of validating the results of historic diamond drill holes covering a zone of chalcocite mineralization known as the 543S deposit and completing a NI 43-101 compliant resource estimate in 2013. Highland also intends to explore the potential of a 20-mile long chalcocite belt within which the 543S deposit and numerous other chalcocite prospects are located.
