Aston Bay Holdings (TSX-V:BAY) is a Canadian copper and zinc exploration and development company advancing the Storm Copper and Seal Zinc projects on Somerset Island, Nunavut.
Aston Bay optioned both projects in 2011 via a 70/30 option agreement with Commander Resources. Aston Bay holds the exclusive option to two assets in one of the best global mining jurisdictions and is strategically positioned to leverage global demand for copper and zinc. The Storm Property is located on the northwest corner of Somerset Island, Nunavut. The property is 154,021.32 acres in size and is host to a large area of carbonate-hosted copper mineralization (Storm Copper) and a zone of zinc-silver silver mineralization (Seal Zinc). The Seal zinc-silver zone sits on tidewater on a Peninsula that extends into Aston Bay. The Storm Copper area is located approximately 20 kilometres inland from the Seal zone.
The properties have good access to shipping lanes, and the landscape provides favorable conditions for a road and protected deep water. Properties
On November 24, 2011, Aston Bay Holdings entered into an Option Agreement with Commander Resources for the the Storm Property.
The Agreement provides Aston Bay the right to earn up to a 70% interest in Commander’s wholly owned Storm Property, Nunavut by issuing a total of 3,000,000 shares to Commander, making total cash payments of $150,000 and funding $15 million in exploration expenditures that must include delivery of an Indicated Resource as defined in NI 43-101.
Seal Zinc
The Seal Zinc tidewater mineralization is a potential direct ship project located 20 kilometres west of the centre of the copper mineralization and within the same gross structural trend as the Storm Copper Project.
