Helio Resource Corp. (TSX-V:HRC) is a Canadian based junior gold exploration company which aims to deliver value to its shareholders by discovering and bringing to production high-grade, high potential gold projects in Eastern and Southern Africa.
Helio is focused on rapidly advancing its 238km² SMP Gold Project in Tanzania to production while working to expand the high-grade resource potential.
Helio's strategy is to demonstrate the extension to depth of high-grade zones identified within the existing NI 43-101 compliant open pittable resource to define high-grade zones amenable to a smaller, higher-grade open pit and/or high-grade underground operation.
The SMP Gold Project has a current open-pittable NI 43-101 compliant mineral resource estimate provided by SRK in February 2012 of 1,020,000 ounces in the Measured and Indicated category (24.1Mt grading 1.32g/t Au), plus 240,000 ounces in the Inferred category (7.2Mt grading 1.05g/t Au)(Click here for full details).
Helio's DGP Gold Project in central Namibia is located east of and on strike from AngloGold Ashanti's Navachab gold mine and 150km SE of the Otjikoto Mine (B2Gold), which is being developed. The discovery of the Gold Kop target (50m @ 2.1g/t Au, 0.8% Cu and 14g/t Ag (June 13, 2011)) was a significant event and Helio aims to continue to demonstrate the potential of a Navachab-sized gold deposit through a joint-venture partnership.
