In addition, the CAE Oxford Aviation Academy offers training to aspiring pilot cadets in 12 CAE-operated flight schools. CAE’s business is diversified, ranging from the sale of simulation products to providing comprehensive services such as training and aviation services, professional services, in-service support and crew sourcing. The company applies simulation expertise and operational experience to help customers enhance safety, improve efficiency, maintain readiness and solve challenging problems. CAE is now leveraging its simulation capabilities in new markets such as healthcare and mining.

Core Businesses

Civil

With more than 210 full-flight simulators in 42 civil training locations worldwide, CAE has the largest network of civil training locations in the industry. CAE serves approximately 3,500 airlines, aircraft operators and manufacturers across the globe. We offer customized training services for pilots and maintenance technicians ranging from integrated programs to deployable ground school capabilities and e-Learning solutions. We have teamed with airlines and original equipment manufacturers to improve services and offer training solutions for every segment on the market. We operate the world's largest network of Ab-Initio flight schools called CAE Oxford Aviation Academy and comprised of 12 locations with a capacity to train 2,000 cadets annually. CAE has also extended into pilot and maintenance crew sourcing through CAE Parc Aviation, which provides 1,200 aviation personnel on assignment to 50 airlines and leasing companies in 40 countries.

CAE is also the world's leading supplier of civil flight simulators, with more than 1,000 simulators and flight training devices sold to more than 130 airlines, aircraft manufacturers and training centres. We have simulated almost every modern airliner for both major and regional carriers, as well as many of today's business jets and helicopters and have developed more prototype simulators than any other company.

Defence

CAE provides turnkey training services and training systems integration expertise to global defence and security forces. Examples of CAE’s turnkey training services include the Medium Support Helicopter Aircrew Training Facility (MSHATF) at Royal Air Force (RAF) Benson in the U.K., the Operational Training Systems Provider (OTSP) program for the Canadian Forces, the German Army Aviation School at Buckeburg, and the KC 135 Aircrew Training System for the United States Air Force (USAF). CAE also provides a range of training support services such as contractor logistics support, maintenance services and simulator training at more than 70 sites around the world. The company additionally provides a variety of modeling and simulation-based professional services for analysis and operational decision-making, and offers a range of in-service support solutions such as systems engineering and lifecycle management.

In addition, CAE is a world leader in the design and manufacturing of military flight simulation equipment. The company develops simulation equipment, training systems and software tools for a variety of military aircraft, including fast jets, helicopters, maritime patrol and tanker/transport aircraft. CAE has designed the widest range of helicopter simulators in the world and more training systems for the C-130 Hercules than any other company. CAE also offers simulation-based solutions for land forces, including tank driver and crew gunnery simulators, hands-on trainers and virtual maintenance trainers for ground combat systems, constructive simulation for command and staff training, and a range of other solutions for ground forces. CAE has delivered simulation products and training systems to more than 50 defence operators in approximately 35 countries, including all of the U.S. services. Through Presagis, the company specializes in commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) modelling and simulation software.

CAE Healthcare offers cutting-edge learning tools to healthcare students and professionals, allowing them to develop practical experience through risk-free simulation training before treating real patients. CAE Healthcare’s full spectrum of simulation solutions includes surgical and imaging simulation, curriculum, center management and highly realistic adult, pediatric and baby patient simulators. Today, approximately 7,000 CAE Healthcare simulators are in use worldwide by medical schools, nursing schools, hospitals, defence forces and other entities.
