GEAPS Exchange is a great place to make new connections in the grain industry, find operations solutions and learn about new technologies and best practices from across the industry.
Find Solutions To Any Facility Problem
Between hundreds of exhibitors and hands-on education in the Expo Pods, GEAPS Exchange is your one-stop for finding a solution to any problem in your facility.
Refreshment Breaks and Lunch
Numerous refreshment breaks will be available throughout the conference. You’ll also get lunch in the Expo Hall on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday compliments of sponsoring companies.
Products, Equipment and Services
Many companies bring physical equipment to the show. Operators can learn more about the latest technology and trends, while getting their hands on equipment and asking questions. Executives can reinforce existing business relationships and form new ones.
The Expo Hall also serves as a lunch and education destination. Lunch is provided for free for attendees, and the Hall also features several interactive training sessions on Monday and Tuesday.
GEAPS Exchange Education
The Exchange Educational Programming Committee plans sessions in a variety of formats. From the Opening Workshop through the hands-on Expo Pods, you’re sure to learn new ways to improve operations at your facility.
Build Your Skills at Exchange
Whether it’s hands-on learning in the Expo Hall, or studying side-by-side with peers, you’re sure to find sessions and formats to meet your educational goals.
To make the most of your time at Exchange, we recommend purchasing an attendee full registration, which includes admission to the Opening Workshop, Idea Exchange, Expo Pods and concurrent sessions!
Get the Most Out of Education Sessions
The education opportunities at GEAPS Exchange are plentiful. The Exchange Educational Programming Committee puts a lot of time into determining what sessions to offer and gives attendees a variety of formats to choose from, including workshops, education sessions, and hands-on Expo Pods.
A couple things to note when selecting a course:
All sessions are based on GEAPS’ Core Competencies to make it easier to find topics of interest to you.
Many education sessions qualify for partial a continuing education unit (CEU) credit. CEUs are only available to GEAPS/K-State credential holders.
To help you find the most valuable training for this stage in your career, education sessions are labeled with an ability level.
During a Session
Sessions start promptly at the times listed in the schedule. Most sessions will have a speaker and PowerPoint, and many speakers leverage the in-session polling technology and audience interaction to make their session more dynamic. There are many times, both before and in-between sessions, where you will be able to get a cup of coffee or a bite to eat at the sponsored Wake-Up Stations and Energy Breaks.
At the end of each session, be sure to let the speaker know how they did with a session survey. The survey can be accessed through the GEAPS Exchange Mobile App (available January 2021) or paper copies available on-site. These surveys not only help our speakers get the valuable feedback they need to ensure their content is useful, but is used to guide programming decisions for future Exchange education sessions. After the event, GEAPS posts proceedings papers and PowerPoint slide decks in the GEAPS Knowledge Resource Center, a members-only section of the GEAPS website.
Future Sessions
We are always looking for new ideas for education sessions in the future! After experiencing GEAPS Exchange, if you have an idea for a future session be sure to add it to the post-session surveys that are available after each education sessions in the GEAPS Exchange Mobile App (available January 2021). If, after attending Exchange, you are interested in the development of Education Education, we invite you to join the Exchange Educational Programming Committee (EPC).
Lastly, if you are an expert in an important topic related to the grain industry and are interested in presenting an education session at the Exchange, you can apply to be a presenter when the call for proposals opens for Exchange 2021. If you have any questions regarding the Exchange Education options, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
With nearly 40 hours of education, you’re sure to learn new ways to improve operations at your facility.
EXPO
The Expo is the best place to find grain handling and processing operations solutions all in one place.

SEG-AGU Advances in Distributed Sensing for Geophysics Workshop
Houston, Texas, USA
Geophysical data acquisition is currently undergoing a quiet revolution driven by new advances in distributed sensing approaches based on fiber optics, inexpensive nodal systems, and ubiquitous sensors embedded in the Internet of Things. The commonality between these approaches is the capacity to economically conduct ultra-high-density measurements at scales above 1000 sensing locations, providing an unaliased view of seismic wavefields as well as other measurands including strain and temperature. Distributed Fiber Optic Sensing (DxS) and Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) in particular are moving from specialized tools for vertical seismic profiling to broadly utilized approaches deployed in boreholes, on the surface, and now on the seafloor with application domains in seismology, hydrogeology, and oceanography, as well as applied geophysics. With this rapid growth in measurement density have come new challenges in data management and analysis requiring focused development of approaches for identifying patterns and extracting information from these massive datasets, potentially exploiting machine learning methodologies.
This workshop seeks to bring together researchers from industry, academia, and the public sector involved in exploiting these recent sensing advances with the broader geoscience community to explore both the underlying technologies as well as new domains for distributed sensor deployment. The format of the workshop is intended to foster lively discussion and interaction, and includes an evening poster session to facilitate longer debates.
