UNIVERGE Installation Manager
The UNIVERGE™ Installation Manager is a Windows® based application that allows for quick installation of the SV7000 Enterprise Communications Platform (ECP), the UM4730 IP-based Voicemail Server and several peripheral devices utilized by the SV7000.

The Installation Manager application is designed to assist in gathering customer information regarding their needs for initial system data, least cost routing, phone extensions, phone features, and related information. This tool expedites the process of gathering this information, customizing it, and then turning the information into the system programming. The number of hours required to setup the ECP is greatly reduced using the Installation Manager.

The Installation Manager contains a high level of import and export capabilities allowing sharing of information with many other types of applications. Using these capabilities makes it possible to easily re-use the information in other NEC products, or other customer databases which can be easily manipulated using common tools such as Microsoft® Excel. By supporting extensive import and export capabilities, gathering all of the necessary database entries is no longer a chore.

Through the use of templates and an easy-to-use and logically laid out Graphical User Interface (GUI), the database is gathered and customized to your specifications. And, best of all, it takes that information and installs all of the necessary data to get your SV7000 System up and running fast.

Goal of Installation Manager

The goal of the NEC Installation Manager is to reduce the total cost of sales for our NEC Associates and the total cost of ownership for our NEC Customers by reducing the time and expertise required to install a UNIVERGE SV7000 ECP.

It accomplishes this goal in following ways:
• By providing a rapid way to gather and organize new customer installation information
• By making the installation simpler so that a less skilled person can perform the task at a lower wage-cost and in less time
• By allowing the collected information to be programmed to the SV7000 and to the NEAXMail®/UM4730 voice mail system
• By supporting the Import of user information and being able to assign templates to the user information as it is imported
• By allowing simple grouping of user information by department (Organizational Level) or location for quick application of common templates
• By allowing projects to be saved as project templates so that associate-defined button, class, call forwarding and voice mail templates created within the project can be used in other projects without the need of recreating them
• By accepting re-use of a customers existing extension numbers during the import process and providing automatic generation of virtual extensions based upon an “offset” value set during the import process
• By allowing the user information to be exported from NEC Installation Manager and used as an import file to MA4000, AIMWorX® and/or OpenWorX® systems
• By providing unique reports to speed up the installation process and assist in a more accurate installation
• By tracking the phone equipment to be used
• By installing NEC default system initialization data
• By providing within one tool and one software installation access to other tools necessary to initialize the Voice Server, namely the NEC Flash Card Tool and the NEC Registration Wizard
• By providing the ability to prepare installation information at the convenience of the installer in an “Off-Line Mode” (not connected to the SV7000 or VMS Server)
