The Becker Mining Systems Fieldbus Device product range is bundled under the name of Promos. The new Promos 4.0 Fieldbus System is the culmination of over 50 years of experience in mining combined with innovation and user-friendly operation. The data transfer rate is now over 25 times faster (500 kbit/s) than that of the previous fieldbus. This allows voice digitisation, as well as additional functions such as diagnosis using mobile devices and the simultaneous use of fieldbus participants for RFID applications. Promos 4.0 provides the following crucial functions across a broadly divided network: Data transfer, Safety circuit, Intercom and long distance power supply. The Becker Telegram Standard (BTS) is in accordance with the EIA- or RS-485 interface standard. The fieldbus is capable of handling up to 96 participants and can be extended further by means of gateways. The volume of our intercoms has been extremely improved with noise cancellation and a higher volume output of now up to 110dB. For easier dignosis, further data can also be tranferred to mobile devices via Bluetooth.

 

Digital voice transmission offers fault tolerance against crosstalk, from the terminal device to the central unit. Thanks to the high-speed data transmission, more demanding automation tasks can be carried out at the same time as modern diagnostics techniques using a mobile device. All of the Promos 4.0 fieldbus devices have been completely redesigned, drawing on decades of experience with the Promos Plus and the BTS fieldbus Betacontrol. The Promos4.0 fieldbus belongs to the Mincos product range. It operates as a fieldbus for the Mining Master Smart (MMS) control unit. The product range includes the following devices: Emergency off and Cable Pull Switches, Intercom Stations, I/O devices, small and large HMI Panels, components for bus control, gateways, Mining Master Smart Control Units and intrinsically safe Mobile phones.
