Turbidity Barriers

Floating turbidity barriers control suspended solids and turbidity in water generated by dredging and disposal of dredged material.

Turbidity Barriers
Our floating turbidity curtains are pre-assembled devices which include floatation, geotextile/geomembrane body panels, load lines, bottom ballast and connection hardware. These devices may be deployed in areas where sediment discharge to a stream is unavoidable. They are commonly used within a water body to protect against sediment migration from construction areas into the rest of the water body. Our Turbidity Curtains are designed to deflect and contain sediment within a limited area effectively and to provide sufficient retention time for the sediment particles to settle out. The Curtains are suspended vertically in a body of water with floats at the top and a ballast chain at the bottom. Our Type 1, 2 and 3 floating turbidity curtains conform to the US Army Corps of Engineer specifications.
