Cummins ISX15 has an established history as the transportation industry’s favorite engine for Class 8 trucks. That’s because we provide the total package that best meets your exact needs, from fully integrated powertrains to dynamic torque adjustment to an entire suite of Connected Solutions, including Connected Diagnostics™.
The 2017 ISX15 is being offered in two distinct ratings groups – one for customers who need stronger performance, and one that gives you maximum fuel economy with the lowest total operating cost. Regardless of horsepower, all ISX15 engines are fully integrated, for maximum uptime with improved reliability.
Redefining Performance. 485-605 HP.
For customers who need maximum pulling power and performance, the 2017 ISX15 will be offered with ratings from 485 hp to 605 hp (362-451 kW). These performance-focused engine ratings are being optimized to provide customers with prolonged peak torque, for a broader power band. This provides an ample RPM operating range to climb mountains or haul heavy loads with ease and less gear-shifting.
Redefining Fuel Economy. 400-500 HP.
The 2017 ISX15 is being optimized to deliver peak torque at lower rpms and enable further downspeeding without compromising driveability. Optional ADEPT™ technology previews upcoming terrain and adjusts engine and transmission performance to minimize downshifts and maximize fuel economy.
Redefining Integration.
The entire powertrain system is being integrated, from engine to transmission to rear axle. A new, highly efficient turbocharger improves air handling, for faster transient response, while the more compact, Single Module aftertreatment system reduces vehicle weight and temperatures loss. The 2017 ISX15 will also be outfitted with a series of new high-efficiency components that reduce parasitic loads and optimize combustion. Together, these features enable the engine to produce power more efficiently. Even the industry leading INTEBRAKE™ has been enhanced, with increased braking power where it matters most – at lower RPMs.
Redefining Uptime.
The operational efficiency of Cummins 2017 ISX15 reduces downtime and improves profitability. Maintenance intervals are being extended, diagnostics are being improved and the driver interface is being simplified, with fewer lamps. A new crankcase ventilation filter and a more efficient aftertreatment system further reduce maintenance.
