Orica Canada Inc

Equipment

Orica offers a wide range of loading units designed to fit all your needs for underground loading of bulk products.  Along with the delivery systems offered, we also offer a variety of accessories that will meet your daily needs whether it is for surface or underground activities.  The team at Orica's Equipment Center in Beloeil, Quebec, is ready to assist you in all your equipment needs.

Each Blasthole Charger (BHC) is certified for the province, state, or country where it will be operated in. The vessels are all pressure tested, welded to the present ASME Section 8 Division I code and soaked in an acid bath to remove carbon steel residue after welding.

The Mobile Hose Pusher (MHP) was designed to assist operators when loading downholes, upholes or horizontal holes. This is especially helpful when loading long dry holes where the operator has to pull the hose all day. The hose pusher is designed for both the 1 in. (25 mm) ID hose and the ¾ in. (19 mm) ID hose depending on the hole diameter. The MHP can efficiently feed the hose in long horizontal holes or upholes. The operator simply feeds the hose in, starts the pump unit, and sets the retract speed of the MHP to ensure full borehole loading without burying the hose in the emulsion.

EZ2LOAD is the product name for Orica’s new MCU2500 series of delivery systems. EZ2LOAD consists of two types of pumps that introduce Orica’s bulk products in underground or surface mining. There are two available models in the series, the MCU2500 and MCU2550. The MCU2500 is a self-contained delivery system while the modular MCU2550 is a tankless delivery system that is adaptable to most existing IBC containers and DOT approved tanks.

The MCU2300SC was developed for underground development where 1,700 lbs (775 kg) of emulsion in the tank meets your needs. The operation and benefits of the unit are the same as the MCU2300M.

The MCU2300M is a modular unit that can be connected to any bin or tank on a truck to offer flexibility of emulsion capacity. This system uses the Maxipump technology which offers an intrinsically safe pump. It has the hose lubrication slaved to the emulsion pump and is simple to operate. This unit has been used on construction sites in Alaska, in development projects in underground mines in Timmins and projects in Mexico. The unit can be operated pneumatically or hydraulically.

The MCU2300HP unit is perfect when you need to pump long distances, need to load in restrictive access areas where you cannot drive in production equipment, load some upholes, horizontal holes or downholes and the ground is fractured. This unit has the capability of shearing the product so it will stay in the hole and not seep through cracks. The unit is connected to a bin and is controlled with a wireless remote control. It can be operated both pneumatically or hydraulically with a separate hydraulic power pack that is electrically powered.

The MCU2100 has all the requirements for uphole and downhole loading. The RoboArm™ has a reach of 16 feet high and 12 feet out from the main post. The Hose Handling system ensures the hose is always reeled and never creates a tripping hazard. The Reel is driven by the hose therefore no maintenance of drive motor. The unit is a modular design so it can be fitted to most standard flat deck underground utility vehicles. The hydraulics and power can be taken from the carrier or an auxiliary power pack can be provided and powered by mine hydro. The power pack has the necessary conversion panel to take 600VAC from the mine and convert it to 12 VDC to power the controller and sensors.

The MCU2000 is a remote controlled operated unit capable of delivering product at rates up to 130 lbs/min (60 kg/min). This unit is equipped with a controller that can be programmed to automatically stop the pump after a preset product quantity is delivered. The controller includes a totalizer that allows the operator to note the amount of product that was delivered in each round that is loaded. This unit is designed to fit most underground carriers that have a boom/basket. It has enough capacity to load two, and sometimes three, rounds depending on the size of the drifts.

The MCU2200B is a simple bladder unit designed to deliver emulsion through a delivery hose without the use of conventional mechanical pumps. Simply fill up the product tank, connect air to the unit, and then go. Compressed mine air is introduced into the cylindrical tank and provides the motive energy to displace the explosive product from a rubberized bladder to the lubefree loading hoses. The novel delivery hose has no requirement for lubrication, therefore no water tank, lubrication pump or water-ring is required and is capable of loading emulsion and AN/EP blends with accurate dispensing. The MCU2200B simplifies operation and reduces operation and maintenance costs.
