Engineered Systems for roofs has been in place for many years due to façade maintenance needs.
Among the first work at height related standards, CSA Z91 and CSA271 continue to be referenced by engineers and architects.
For persons performing work on a roof, but not requiring to leave the roof or suspend for façade access CSA Z259.16 is the applicable standard. Under this standard, sacrificial anchors may be used in lieu of opening up the roof for access to the building’s structure, a very cost effective alternative.
