Belt Skirting
Plastruthane® Conveyor Belt Skirting is used alongside bulk material transfer belts. This modified polyurethane strip is extremely tough and resistant to abrasion, cuts, tears and impact. One of the defining characteristics of our conveyor belt skirting is the way it shapes itself to the belt. This eliminates product from wedging itself underneath and causing premature wear on your belt. The non-porous nature of the material makes cleaning it a breeze, as well as restricting materials from gathering against it and causing stress on the belt.

Plastruthane® vs Rubber
skirts outperform rubber at a minimum of 2:1 and in most cases outperforms at 4:1. This allows for more production and less manpower and production downtime for swapping out skirts and belts. The lower coefficient of friction than rubber also means less wear on the belt and less stress on the mechanisms transporting the bulk materials. Plastruthane® has higher cut and abrasions resistance, can be made in higher hardness rating and has better load bearing capabilities.
Health and Safety
Not on everyone’s mind when with the subject of belt skirting, but it goes a long way in keeping your workplace safe. Belt skirting boosts flow and employees are less likely to resort to dangerous tactics to help enhance the flow of clogged belts. Belt skirting also keeps material on the belt and not on the floor and other areas of the mechanism. One of the biggest and most overlooked aspects of Plastruthane® belt skirting is the ability to considerably cut down on the noise of the belt and travelling materials.
