Grease

Grease is the key element to your lubrication system. The choice of grease type is particularly important for the proper function of the system and will have direct impact on its efficiency. To make it easier, we propose an online guide with all the grease requirements. This guide contains:

List of recommended greases

Grease changing procedures

Practical data & conclusions

For grease more than oils the characteristics are often imprecise and provides only fragmentary and insufficient information to define applications directly to the mechanisms. This why there is a band of tests that were made but only full scale tests can provide manufacturers and users real value in use of a grease . We can however give some practical advice to guide choices:

• The recommended viscosity for the centralized lubrication system grease is between 100 to 220 cSt at 40°C.

• The greases with a sodium calcium base have a good resistance to washing and sweating with water, during use it is possible up to 120 °C and a higher speed rotation.

• Lithium based grease represents approximately 70 % of commercialized petroleum grease. The drop point is around 175 °C and it could attain 195 °C with lithium of acid 12hydroxystéarique soap.

• Greases with a soap base complex of calcium, aluminum, lithium, with modified bentonites or cellulosic structures, polyurea type thickener, withstands high temperatures without melting (165 to 230 °C).
