Ground Movement Monitoring

Our highly innovative digital product line as designated by the suffix 'd-' includes an embedded microcontroller that provides highly accurate measurements reported in real-world units. This technology provides many key advantages to our users.

YieldPoint’s Sloughmeter combines a proven and robust cable design using YieldPoint’s digital technology applied to make the best possible detector. When grouted into boreholes intersecting the prone area and connected to our d4Logger the unit provides continuous monitoring of the area.

The d-Tilt is a full 360 arcdeg triaxial wireless tiltmeter for very precise measurement (0.001 arcdeg resolution) of changes in inclination. The instrument uses a very low noise MEMS accelerometer that enables a resolution of 0.001 arcdeg with a 24hr stability of +/-0.001 arcdeg.

YieldPoint’s d-Conv is a high precision digital displacement with a 150mm range. It is most commonly used as a roof-to-floor convergence station in salt and potash mines. However it can be widely deployed as an instrument to measure dilation or closure of cracks and joints on many types of structure including retaining walls, bridges and dams.

YieldPoint’s d-micro is a high precision digital crackmeter with a 10mm range.

The d-GMM is a single channel Ground Movement Monitor that can be used to measure deformation or displacement in many different configurations. The instrument is designed to measure extension although since the shaft is flexible it can accommodate eccentric loading or shear. The d-GMM can be configured as a crack monitor or can be used for structural monitoring of shafts, headframes or barricades or as a closure station.

YieldPoint’s recognizes that in many mining situation fast deployment of an ungrouted borehole extensometer is preferable. The d-MPBX is a unique 1 to 6-Point Multiple Point Borehole eXtensometer (MPBX) based on a single rod design. The anchors are fitted with stainless steel torsion springs that secure the instrument in a 38-54mm borehole. The d-MPBX incorporates digital signal processing to result in dramatically improved accuracy compared to similar priced existing technology.
