Face Bolting Solution

The Joy longwall Facebolter is an AFC mounted hydraulically propelled roofbolting machine platform specifically designed for longwall face bolting during salvage or installation or during severe adverse geological conditions. It is mounted directly onto the AFC and drives using hydraulic power from the longwall roof supports through a sprocket meshed into the AFC rack bars. It incorporates maximum roofbolting flexibility allowing a wide coverage of roofbolter positions by allowing the two roofbolting rigs to move on sliding mechanisms both forward and backwards (towards and away from the face) and also raise and lower. A rotary actuator also allows the roofbolt rig to roll over to install bolts into the longwall face.

 

The operator platform has optimised space for ease of operations. Optimised bolt spacing can be achieved to suit the longwall shield width or place multiple rows of bolts in a single pass or offer a range of roof heights from a single platform height.  The design draws on Joy Global's wide range of experience bringing together proven components in roofbolt design, operation, positioning and indexing.
