contaminated water usually appears to have a yellow tobrown cast but is generally transparent in nature. The chief cause of these contaminants is the decay of organic matter that contacts the water source. They are considered a controlled element in waters that are to be disinfected with chlorine due to the possible creation of THM's, a suspected carcinogen. They remain in the water due to a slight negative charge and can be exchanged out with anion exchange resin. These colour bodies can be successfully removed with our tannin units, providing virtually colour free water that looks and smells better than the source water.
