Thus it is capable of easily lifting the entire charging crew and their explosives. Large lifting coverage enables working on faces up to 10 m high and 12,5 m wide. An on-board air compressor provides air for charging, and an isolated box enables safe storing of detonators and primers.

 

Platform rotation allows lining up parallel to the face when turning the boom through its 60 degrees slewing range. The size of the hydraulically extendable REX platform is 2,4m x 2,4m without extensions, and 2,4m x 4,7m with extensions fully in use. This provides the largest available working platform in boom and basket type lifting units designed for tunnel works. Several operators can be working simultaneously from the same platform. This makes the product practical for charging of large tunnel faces.

 

The large basket, comprehensive coverage of the boom and superior stability of the carrier makes this machine not only an efficient charging machine but a real multipurpose unit that can be utilised for all other kinds of tunnel works as well. High lifting load and large coverage have made it popular for installing ventilation, electric cables, pipelines and rock reinforcement like rock bolting, wire mesh and manual shotcreting when not needed for the charging work. The stable construction allows also use for sampling, measuring and surveying. The needed tools and materials can be lifted at once together with the working group which makes the works happen quickly without the unnecessary discontinuities in the working cycle.
