The OnGuard 2-plus control system provides real-time data about your commercial and industrial cooling water systems, enabling you to continuously optimize processes. The OnGuard 2-plus control system monitors actual system corrosion rates and fouling factor, as well as other water parameters such as pH, conductivity, temperature oxidation-reduction potential and water flow.

 

When coupled with an OnGuard controller, the corrosion and fouling information enables performance-based control of the treatment chemistry. As a result, corrective actions occur constantly to ensure corrosion control and consistent, reliable cooling water operation.

How It Works

 

The OnGuard 2-plus control system is the culmination of three decades of research, development and proven success in some of the world's most demanding environments. It is fully compliant with NACE Standard Practice 0300 (latest release) and is the only control system that provides an accurate indication of fouling in real time.

 

The system brings together sensors, meters and proprietary software to measure corrosion, scaling and fouling directly. At the heart of the control system is a heat-exchanger simulator—completely unique in the industry—that duplicates the thermodynamic and hydraulic properties directly related to fouling.

 

The system samples a side stream of cooling water. Using proprietary algorithms designed and developed by Solenis researchers, it then calculates fouling parameters. The sensitivity of the patented simulator enables detection of problems before they become evident on plant instrumentation.
