Media Filtration

Newterra provides a wide variety of media options for the treatment of impurities from water streams, such oil, grease, and other low-soluble, high-molecular weight organics from water.

Newterra clay water treatment vessels are filled with TM270 media and reliably absorbs oil and greases and other high molecular weight low solubility organics from water.

Newterra carbon water treatment vessels are filled with granular activated carbon and can be used in applications including the removal of organics from water streams and the purification of potable water. NSF approved, it is suitable for drinking water and food grade applications.

8x30 is a virgin activated carbon derived from bituminous coal. Granular in form, it is ideal for many liquid phase applications including the removal of impurities from water streams. Its superior absorptive capacity and surface area make it particularly attractive for the removal of organics from wastewater; while its size makes it appealing where low pressure drop is needed.

8X30SAW is a virgin acid washed activated carbon which is granular in form. 12x40 is a virgin activated carbon which is granular in form. Made from the finest grades of bituminous coal, it is ideal for many liquid phase applications including the removal of organics from water streams.

TM-100 is a chemically modified organoclay / anthracite filtration media that removes oil, grease, and other low-soluble, high-molecular weight organics from water. This media can adsorb up to 50% of its weight in oil and other high-molecular organics. When used as a pre-treatment, TM-100 increases the overall efficiency of GAC by preventing surface pores from being blinded by oils, greases, and other less water-soluble organics; TM-100 can extend the lifetime of GAC by as much as 500%. The composition of TM-100 allows for a maximum water flow without an excessive pressure build-up in the column.

Activated alumina-based media is designed for the removal of fluoride and inorganic contaminants from water. This media is characterized by a high adsorptive capacity which makes it an economical choice for water treatment. Activated alumina is a highly porous form of aluminum oxide (Al2O3), produced by partially dehydrating aluminum trihydrate. Activated alumina has the ability to absorb a large number of contaminants as a result of its highly porous structure. This porosity and the surface chemistry of activated alumina give it catalytic properties that are useful in many industrial applications.

Various sizes and specifications available for any coalescing media needs.

8X30S is a virgin activated carbon, which is granular in form. Made from selected grades of coconut shell, it is ideal for many liquid phase applications including the removal of organics from water streams. Its superior level of hardness makes it cleaner than most other carbons and gives it longer life expectancy.
