WICHITA CLUTCH

Wichita Clutch designs and manufactures clutches and brakes that are essential in process equipment. Models are available in a variety of designs and mounting configurations and are used extensively around the world by leading OEMs in metalworking, steel, marine, pulp/paper, material handling, paper converting, mining, and energy. Wichita engineers have extensive application experience and utilize the latest design technologies to provide innovative clutch and brake solutions to precisely meet your most demanding requirements.

For high cyclic and general clutching duties. Specially designed for end-shaft mounting onto a bearing supported flywheel or gear wheel.

Wichita Grinding Mill Clutches are specially designed to provide quick, smooth starts with limited current surge for heavy duty grinding mills. The clutch is adaptable to remote control allowing centralized operation through simple air or electric circuits.

For high-energy continuous slipping applications such as dynamic tensioning duties where 'fail to safety' is required. The KK/SS is suitable for end-shaft or through-shaft mounting.

AquaMaKKs™ clutches and brakes are pneumatically or hydraulically controlled and water cooled. They consist of a series of alternating friction discs and water jackets. Torque is transmitted by applying axial force from the pneumatic, hydraulic, or spring set actuator. Copper wear plates are used for excellent heat dissipation. Models are available in 19", 25", and 36" diameter sizes. Torque ranges from 66,500 in.lb. @ 80 PSI to 1,611,000 in.lbs. @ 100 PSI.

Wichita's mechanical PTO's are powered by Eaton's Solo™ mechanical 2-plate clutch. Built-in damping springs on the clutch; driven discs and no pilot bearing are some of the standard features that make Wichita's mechanical PTO user friendly when applied in the harsh environment of diesel engines.

Wichita's Air PTO is powered by our heavy-duty Standard Vent clutch. With large friction areas for high energy starts and an air actuated clutch for remote or automatic control of the PTO.

The CCB consists of an air applied clutch and a spring applied / air release brake combined in one unit.
