Practical Hydraulics

Practical Hydraulics is an instructor-led course that features plenty of hands-on time using our live hydraulic training panels and component simulation software. Our instructors also facilitate lively discussion and encourage questions; the more specific to your exact equipment, the better!

 

This level I course is the first step in rigorous hydraulics training. Students identify, connect and adjust a variety of flow, pressure and directional control valves on a live hydraulics training panel. Pump basics are covered along with system adjustments, schematic symbol reading and safe work practices. Students are encouraged to verify fluid power theory through hands-on work with live systems in the classroom.

 

• Explain fluid power principles
• Connect complete hydraulic systems
• Confirm maximum and safe pressure ratings
• Interpret component symbol and function data
• Identify components by their appearance
• Safely adjust basic pressure and flow controls
• Identify directional valve ports and functions
• Verify system pump types and characteristics
• Load a cylinder or motor and interpret pressure readings
