Sharpe Large Mixers

E-Series Worm Gear Mixers

The Sharpe E-series worm gear drive meets low headroom requirements without sacrificing performance. Standard c-face motor mounting id designed for simple trouble-free installation, with positive registers for repeatable alignment.  Efficient "high pressure angle" gearing provides extremely quiet operation and high shock-load capacity. The hollow quill gearbox design uses oversize tapered roller bearing for long overhung shafts, and requires no flange coupling for assembly. Heat and shock loading is isolated between the motor and gearbox. The E-Series mixers are available in top and side entering designs, with mountings ranging from simple open-tank plate mounts to complex mechanical seal systems.  Sizes range from fractional to 75 horsepower.  Drive housing is corrosion resistant cast iron. Wetted parts are SS316 standard. Carbon steel, exotic alloys, or coatings are also available when required.

N-Series Gear Mixers

The Sharpe N-Series mixer drives utilize all helical gearing made from SAE 8260 steel, carburized to hardness of 58 to 62 Rockwell C, and ground to AGMA Quality Level 12, assuring quiet operation below 85 dbA. The in-line helical gear sets are available in double and triple reduction and are arranged to provide a compact footprint, within a durable and corrosion-resistant cast iron housing, SAE Class 30.

Oversize tapered roller bearings are used on the output shafts to provide excess capacity to accommodate the loads generated on a mixer drive. Heat and shock loading is isolated with a flexible coupling between the motor and the gearbox. The hollow-quill shaft design allows for precise attachment to the mixer shaft without the use of an in-tank coupling. Solid shaft designs are also available.

Standard c-face motor mounting is designed for simple trouble-free installation, with positive registers for repeatable alignment. Motor scoops are available if foot-mounted motors are preferred.

The N-Series mixers are available in top and side entering designs, with mountings ranging from simple open-tank plate mounts to complex mechanical seal systems. Sizes range from fractional to 200 horsepower.

R-Series Gear Mixers

The Sharpe R-Series drives are engineered and built specifically to handle the tough mixing requirements in industries like food processing, waste and water treatment, chemical processing, pulp and paper, and mining.

The drives include heavy-duty tapered roller bearings for extended bearing life even at the high thrust and moment loads common to heavy-duty mixing applications. A positive drywell design physically separates the oil sump from the output shaft to eliminate gear oil contamination of your product and protect the gearbox from failure due to possible oil leakage.

This drive stands up to high bending and thrust loads on the output shaft, reliable round-the-clock operation, and absolutely no leakage of gear lubricant into the product being mixed.

The Sharpe R-Series drive offers a large-diameter, high-capacity output shafts to accommodate the high-bending moment loads common in mixing applications.

Rugged cost or fabricated housings designed to withstand the stresses of mixing while maintaining accurate gear alignment.

Helical and spiral-bevel gearing for quiet operation and high reducer efficiency.

The drives are available with solid or hollow output shafts in top, bottom, or side entry configurations.  Various mountings and shaft seal designs allow the R-Series to meet most any process requirement.
