Solids Separator

SMGB Hydrocyclone Solids Separators are designed to protect pump components against clogging and locking in sandy and post-fracturing environments.

Solids Separator
The SMGB solids separator can be connected
• to the motor’s bottom using a RPB disconnector, or
• to the bottom of the motor shroud by a SMGBK adaptor.

In addition to different ways of connection, hydrocyclone solids separators have various design configurations and features.

The SMGBN separator
comprises a hydrocyclone separator (HCS), check valve with a sludge tube that ensures clog-free operation of the separator when the pump is stopped, and a release valve with a sludge collector. The check valve is designed to divert fluid to the annulus when any well interventions are performed. The release valve discharges the gas accumulated below the disconnector to the annulus.

The SMGBK separator
includes a hydrocyclone separator (HCS), check valve with a sludge tube and a sludge collector.

The separator’s design configuration is determined by the customer when ordering, based on
• separation degree (grain fineness, mm);
• location (N or K design configuration).

RPB Disconnector

The disconnector ensures fluid flow through the filter or solids separator due to sealed annulus.
It comprises tubes, nuts, seal spacers, adaptor, and seals.
The RPB disconnector is mounted to the motor base before the filter and solids separator.
The disconnector is available in three sizes and is selected to fit the casing diameter: RPB-146, RPB-168, RPB-178.
