Neighbour Noise Monitoring System

Uses
• Investigation of time-consuming, intermittent neighbour-noise problems
• Standard briefcase is used to transport and install the monitoring system
• Same standard briefcase (now empty) is then taken from the house to avoid arousing suspicions from interested observers
• Complainant starts and stops high-quality sound recording with a simple hand-switch

Features
• Secure, locked instrumentation enclosure to prevent interference
• Capacity for unattended operation
• Profile of noise levels and recordings for review of the full monitoring period on the hand-held analyzer
• Easy-to-use PC software for detailed analysis and reporting on measurements and recordings
• Battery back-up
Neighbour Noise Monitoring System MATRON 3 - Type 3650
A neighbour-noise nuisance recording system based on a logging Class 1 sound level meter in a locked enclosure that prevents interference. A microphone extension cable is provided for remote positioning of the microphone on a tripod.

MATRON 3 Type 3650 includes a standard 2250-C hand-held sound level meter with Class 1 measurement and sound recording capabilities. The sound level meter continuously measures and stores noise results, and then a simple hand-switch begins a high-quality sound recording when noise is heard. The stored results allow comparison before, during and after the sound recordings.

MATRON 3 works as is a neighbour noise monitoring system or as a independent sound level meter for general noise measurement by removing the Hand-held Analyser from the MATRON case.

The 3650 analyzer and its equipment is transported in a briefcase to avoid arousing suspicions from interested observers. The briefcase is also used for installing the monitoring system, which is then locked to prevent interference.

The complainant uses a simple hand-held switch to make high-quality sound recording of the noise - as it occurs - while the Class 1 hand-held analyzer continuously measures and stores noise results for comparison before, during and after the complainant-initiated sound recordings. Afterwards, it’s easy for the investigating officer to identify the source and level of the noise, which makes it easier to decide what action to take.

MATRON Live

Online and secure Internet communication with installed MATRON Live systems.

With the traditional approach to neighbour noise investigation, the quality and value of the evidence gathered is not known until the equipment is recovered, usually after 7 to 14 days. The ‘blind’ nature of this type of investigation is simply not a consideration when using MATRON Live.

MATRON Live keeps the investigating officer in touch with their installed equipment 24/7, using the available 3G Internet networks. The officer receives regular email alerts regarding the measurement status and can review and control, in real-time, the installed...
