COMPACT TUNNEL SUBSTATIONS (CTS)

The CTS series of electrical substations has been designed for medium voltage operation in construction projects.

Widely used in the mining and tunneling industry, the CTS series of power substations provides power distribution over long distances. The robust design makes it easy to move this device into the tunnel.

 

Using a standard range of voltages of 6.6 kV, 11 kV and 22 kV, the design allows the user to connect remote equipment over long distances, while providing independent power from the tunnel portal.

Manufacturing

 

The CTS substation is constructed using an 8mm mild steel welded frame and a 2-5mm solid welded electrical enclosure. The parts of the structure are made of mild steel, powder coated after anti-corrosion treatment.

 

Transformer 

 

Our standard power transformer is a dry-type polymer cast transformer, which is the most common in the world. If the customer prefers other types of transformers, we can configure them according to customer requirements.

 

LV electrical construction

 

MCCB 1100 V - 690 V are used for power distribution and protection with access to switching through low voltage LV blind front doors. Indications include as standard;

MV electrical construction

 

Our medium voltage section is built using various configurations. The most popular options are for input, feed-through and transformer power. This improves convenience when used in tunnels. The 24 kV class option is available in the same configuration as the -11 series, and the CTS can be equipped with an integrated cable reel as shown. The blast deflector configuration is ideal for blasting drilling and tunneling applications.
